Guest James Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Love it.... finally i am single again and now can start spending my money on stupid things again!!! WOOOO!! about Nine years ago with my first ever pay check i bought a pair of decks... and for the next five years i learnt to mix with them and take them to loads of parties and collect loads of records. BUT! i got engaged and had to seel them to help buy a TV and surround sound stuff :D i still used to DJ but mostly with CD decks for the next 4 years... anyway, now i am propper single again so i can do what the F**k i like with my money. its been way too long since i have had my own decks so at the weekend i made the first step and bought one of these... its really nice and compact....going to buy some decks to go either side of it next week or so... love it!
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 As much as I loved my DJ years I wouldn't want to go back to it. I actually like having space at home to walk around in. All those boxes of records...
Guest James Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 know what you mean!... but i really really just could not resist. :D
Guest amo Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Glad to hear your back into DJ'in James!!!! Got my own pair a few years ago and been loving it ever since. Considered getting CD decks recently because ive started mixing hip hop and have had the opportunity to play at a few bars but rather than use vinyl, these places are more traditionally suited to cd's (you know the kinda cheesy places im on about). What that setup you've got and whats the cost? p.s. Sorry to hear about the split!
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 I was about 10 years older than you when I retired. That had a lot to do with it too and too much... :D

What that setup you've got and whats the cost? p.s. Sorry to hear about the split! well i am using my 500W Surround sound for the amp for the power and just using my KEF front speakers as monitors.... want to get some new speakers really for just a little more power so i can take them out and about with me rather that having to borrow some every time, not sure about gettet a new amp just yet, althought i am going to have some problems when i get the decks and will have to move into the next room :D The unit itself was £400 with £25 headphones thrown in for free. but have seet it on the internet for £365. Not sure what decks to get this time... the cheepy direct drive Stanton one look nice.... or do i go for the new Numark ones:- nice! :0
Guest James Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 and the split was rather mutual.... but was a shame really.... she was nice :D
Guest amo Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Some of the new numarks are nice, ive test driven them and they've got so much torque its unreal. The higher end ones are major rivals for the Vestax's!!! Seriously considering a pair of cd decks though!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Sorry about the breakup jlo....but at the same time.... GREAT! We get to see some new girlies in the photoblog!!! :D
Guest drblow Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Not sure what decks to get this time... the cheepy direct drive Stanton one look nice.... or do i go for the new Numark ones:- But if you go to play in a club, they'll have technics - if its a half decent club ...
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 DJing at the next meet then James? Maybe we need a party afterwards or something ;-) P
Guest Rob.P Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 ^ I could probably get you GLC as well, make it a big after party :D safe
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 GLC? I think we'd probably need to bus in a load of women or something ;-) P
Guest Rob.P Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I don't think the Goldie Lookin Chain would know what to do with a bus load of women :D
Guest James Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Party for the next meet..... go for it....
Guest James Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 GREAT! We get to see some new girlies in the photoblog!!! :D :D OK! .... watch this space!
Guest Rob.P Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 ^ Something to keep men alert by causing widespread suffering, somtimes also referred to as WMD :D
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Hey, The TTX 1's James are fantastic - the TT 500's I think :S is the stripped down version - without the beat counter (the blue led) etc . Ive used mine since December time, and Ive seen you can get them in package deals for about £600. Dont be fooled by the name - Technics are absolutly great - but these top of the range Numarks still produce the same amount of torque. Id also stay away from belt driven decks - go direct :D spacecowboy
Guest James Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 well the belt/direct option goes without saying....... will look at TTx 1's.... cheers
