Guest barry_slobb Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Today a pal at work was showing me his Nokia 6600 - he showed a snowboard game to me - and I was dead impressed. Great graphics, smooth and quick too. Does anything like this exist for the Smartphone? .... I was about to show him my SPV, but after seeing his demo of the game, felt (I have to admit) a little embarrassed!
Guest midnight Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 embarrassed of a nokia 6600 game????? never, many more impressive games/ports/emus on the MS Smartphone :D
Guest agent.m Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 did you mean this???? not a snowboarder myself :D50735c.gif

Guest unclelimey Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Just show him duke 3d or yhe yeti 3d demo i usually show my mates the megadrive emu... that usually makes them go out and buy an spv :D
Guest muff Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 http://www.sumea.com/snowboarding/index.html is the site that goes with the images above, for those that care
Guest roozbeh Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 i suggest showing him duke nukem 3d and also tell him you cant even play it on pocket pc and never ever on 6600 or p900 also wolf with sound can impress him..... if not show him doom with sound then i am sure he will throw his 6600 out of window :D
Guest midnight Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 now you know you should just show people Eclipse, designed for MS Smartphone, Speech, vibrate, parallax scrolling, kick ass gfx :D (ps., please note this is yet another shameless plug of course :D) (pps., roozbeh, nokia owners already have Doom with sound i'm afraid, so that wont impress them)
Guest roozbeh Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 lol.... thank you for information :D but i am sure before that he has thrown it....

Guest xavierjohn22 Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 Ha hä hä hä! Déltä Midp! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest chrisc28 Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 rcperez, how do you manage to find a full screen version of this java game? I can't seem to get one as the ones meant for Series 60 don't work.
Guest phonesmarts Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 he's right, how do you get a Series 60 games to full screen? the games usually fails on the canvas error.
Guest barry_slobb Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Well that looks like the game. Is anyone going to tell us where to get it and how to run it on a Smartrphone please? Cheers Baz
Guest rcperez Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Eventhough sumea is for Nokia, they don't use the Nokia SDK so it has and will run on our SPV. Won't run on javaman though only on delta MIDP.
Guest barry_slobb Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Well I am a newbie to all this Java stuff. Could you tell me what the Java software is you are talking about and where could I aquire it please? Baz
Guest chrisc28 Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 I have found a copy of the Extreme Snowboarding meant for the Motorola V series phones. It works on full-screen, but it is unplayable as the number keypads do not seem to respond in the game. rcperez, is the version you have the same as mine and do yours work? I mean does the number keypad function?
Guest rcperez Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 barry_slobb: you could find that game here www.sumea.com but don't buy it just yet, the default app needs joystick controls aside from the keypad controls which is mapped differently chrisc28: nope keypad doesnt work, so no tricks only slaloms. You could refer to the MIDP thread for a hint if you want the keypad to work.
