Bluetooth Headset Problems with Orange SPVE200

Hi to all, firstly I apologise if my questions is mindnumbingly obvious to all but me but I have the following problem.

Phone: Orange SPVE200

Bluetooth Headset: Sony Ericsson HBH-35

I have bonded the device succesfully enough but I have 2 problems with day to day use.

1. The Phone only changes signal from the handset to the headset when the connection to another person is made. Until then there seems to be no way of being sure that the headset is active. So on the occassions that the activation was not successful you only know that once someone on the other end picks up. Which leads to you suddenly realising that the headset is dead and someone is yelling into the phone to find out who's calling! So is there a way of telling that the phone has 'activiated the headset' and when.

2. I like to watch movies on my phone (who doesn't) and since getting a new SD card this has become a much more practical option and is a good way of wasting time in pubs etc waiting for people to show up for a meeting. However I cannot find a way of using my bluetooth headset to listen to the movies through that instead of having them play out loud, there by bugging everyone else around, can anyone help?

Thanks for reading

Cheers

I have a E200 & M3000 headset.

1. I dial a number (home number when I know no one is there) and see if the headset is connected/working. Then clear down before too many rings.

2. I posted this question as i wanted to listen to MP3/movies and have not found an answer other than the E200 does not have a full headset profile.

I hope this helps & welcome to the forum.

Thanks for that, when you phone home i presume that you have an answerphone working to pick up the line? With mine I find that the line needs to be picked up before I know if the headset is operational.

Yes its a shame if there is no way to get a bluetooth headset to work with movies etc isn't it? I just assumed there was something I was doing wrong or had missed etc.

Cheers Marcus
