Guest blackhat Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 some months ago i've update my orange SPV from UK version to CH version (CH version has italian language), and because the update tool said that were impossible to update a different version of the software, i did it from the bootloader screen, and all was ok. today i tried to update to i-mate rom, always doing it from the bootloader screen (i did it time ago, it worked well), but the update tool does not start the upgrade...and phone's screen goes blank. i'm trying with orange roms too, but it always freeze on "Checking the information on your SPV ...Please wait..." the only update that function is from CH to CH, but with the phone in normal mode, in bootloader mode not even this functions. what happens? what can i do?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 What rom update do you have? if you have the 1.6 you will need to downgraded to an earlier version first by running the update and then swapping the nbf file with one from the 1.3.5 update. I did not realise the Swiss rom had Italian on it :? One question, why do you want to run the IMate update? as the Orange one is the latest version. Moved to Help and Advice
Guest blackhat Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 because i-mate rom can record movies too, orange does not... downgrading sound strange however, i've played a lot with these roms and i never had problems working in bootloader mode... i'll try!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 Unfortunately you have not played as much as I have :D The latest updates were designed to make installing other networks roms harder and to prevent people playing with the bootloaders etc. As for movies the IMate has IA Album which is available from www.handango.com but as for movies it's not really worth even messing about with, as the camera uses a serial connection and so can only record at a few frames per second.
Guest blackhat Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 where can i find old roms? google isn't helping me...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 the 1.3.5 Orange rom is available from www.monolithix.org
