Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 just be careful what you say to them if you loose your phone they will pick up on any little thing and you will not get a new phone. What did you actually tell them?
Guest paddy_mcnulty Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Orange Care are odd. It really depends on who you talk to. I had my phone stolen from a bar I was working in and they made me pay £50 for a new phone phone. I got the phone and three weeksI went out clubbing. I realised I'd lost my phone on the night so borrowed a friend's and rang them up that night, a bit worse for wear..., and I told them that 'I'm a bit drunk and I was dancing round all over the place I can't find my phone'. The guy at the other end of the phone (Orange CS) just said, okay no problem, we'll get a new phone over to tomorrow afternoon (this was about 2am so maybe the night staff just don't care). Work that out? Stolen=pay, pi**ed and lost=free replacement! Could always try ringing again and re-expalining yourself. You might get a nicer person. You never know(if they ask say you were upset when you first had to give an explaination so it prob came out wrong) Good Luck
Guest smith2001 Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 i spoke to a CS man and when i said "i might have dropped it, thats why the button might not be working" he said "no u just didn't say that to me did u" and then i remembered the small print and instantly said "no no, no idea how it happened" and the bloke laughed and we ended up discussing upcoming phones and orange 3G for the next 10 mins and i got my replacement the next day. also my new phone had the new ROM on it.
Guest Kallisti Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 My wife dropped her phone off her lap while getting out of her car. They claim that was not taking "reasonable care" and won't pay. FWIW, I'm taking it to the loss adjusters and if that doesn't work to the insurance ombudsman.
