Guest amanson Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Are there any cheats for Eclipse: First Wave? Are there any ways to skip levels, etc? Thank you.
Guest mavisdavis Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Dont hold ya breath mate. I don't think they'll ever see the light of day. At 1st I got sick of dying on level 1 now I'm getting sick of dying on level 2 so I 'm not playing it anymore. Unfortunate because I think it is the best arcade action for the phone at the moment (until Kumite (get ya finger out Midnight)) So I've given up  I dont play games for long periods as I'm a sit down on the porceline porch type of game player  Even if a save game option was availible or a continue up to 3 times at least I'd be 1 happy punter :D
Guest amanson Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 I have stopped playing it as well. I cannot make it past the first level (although I have been close). The game is hard because if you die at anytime during the level, you can forget finishing it. You pretty much need all of the power-ups you can to get to the end. Its a bummer becuause it is a well made game, but too frustrating to play to the end. Has anyone finished it?
Guest midnight Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Level 1 is NOT hard to do, and even easier since version 1.2 increased the autofire rate. Not every game has to be completed you know, and i think you'll find arcade shooters have a history of being on the difficult side, thats what makes them a challenge, and thats why there is a high score, this game is as much about getting a high score as it is trying to complete the game :D Think of it this way, if someone who was not very good at shoot-em-ups could complete a shoot em up, how easy would it be for someone who is a shooter expert? :D We are changing several things in Eclipse 2 though, including difficulty modes, continues etc. but its simply too late to change Eclipse: First Wave now. by the way: I havent played it for a while (been making Kumite amongst other things) but i can get to level 6
Guest Skunkchild Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 I agree with the previous posts - shame there was no option for novice/expert as I would have bought it to show off the phone. Everyone who's seen me play the demo has asked for a play then given up within minutes. Lost sales I reckon.
Guest amanson Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Midnight, You are right. I guess I just need to play more. It sucks to buy a game and finish it in a week or less. It's nice to have something challenging that you can keep going back to. Good work on this game. :D I like what you are doing in E2 by having different difficulty modes. That way people of different skill sets can enjoy it equally. Also, as people get better, they can increase the difficulty and keep enjoying the game. :D -Andy
