Guest madhatter2k Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 ...I have a little G on the top thingy bar. I just unlocked this so i can use my o2 simcard, as i bought this phone from ebay. That's another thing, i'm not actually sure which model it is. There's no talk of any E-somethingsomething numbers anywhere... Hope someone can help! Thanks!
Guest blewer Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Welcome to the site :D Post a picture, and we can tell you
Guest madhatter2k Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 just about to get the picture. In the meantime, might you be able to tell me what the little G means? I've been able to find nothing in the manual. [edit] added Picture [/edit]
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Welcome to the site :D How did you unlock the phone? that will help to identify what phone you have. The Big G in the top centre of the screen means the phone is GPRS enabled and the little g in the signal bar icon means you are actually using the GPRS service and getting billed for the data you are using.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 And that picture is the original SPV :D
Guest martin Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Can you receive calls on your phone with the O2 SIM ?
Guest madhatter2k Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Yep, just tried it. I can receive incoming calls.
Guest martin Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Yep, just tried it. I can receive incoming calls. That's a good sign then. The IMEI is not blacklisted :D Can you confirm that the top display on the phone (homescreen) has O2, a G in white box, number 1 (for line1) and vertical signal bars. Also is it a contract or prepaid SIM. If prepaid does it have credit ?
Guest madhatter2k Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 i can confirm that all three are present, and i do have credit.
Guest martin Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Have you tried a hard reset <=click for instructions.
Guest madhatter2k Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 as i said in the other post, it's working now. i can make and receive calls, synchronise, and the menus are no longer completely buggered up. i still have one question, is there supposed to be some sort of Windows Explorer program somewhere? Because i can't find it, so i can't run any of the programs i've installed. thanks!
Guest madhatter2k Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 just installed SmartExplorer, and the phone told me something about it not having permissions to be installed. Any ideas?
Guest martin Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 As TanagerDave said in the other post, you will need to run the App unlock using the OTA method. You only need a working Internet connection on the SPV to run the unlock. The internet connection can be either GPRS or pass through connection.
