Thanks for the comments xavierjohn22, I'd love to see you make some more levels, your previous releases were all top quality ( except ' clouds ', couldn't get my head around that one! :D ). It's sad how few people are playing this game, I love it and after not playing it for a while I've gone back to it and am addicted. I suppose it is quite difficult at first which may put people off but it's well worth persevering with.

I'm sure there is still a lot of scope for more levels, wish I had more artistic skill to play with, seems to work quite well with photographic backgrounds though, luckily for me!

:D I love this game and was inspired to take up the track challenge but failed miserably then today I had a revelation....!

Why stop at the tracks  why not the bike and and Dougies outfit?

So heres the 1st to my knowledge. I just resaved the info in the gfx

folder on the phone to .jpg then recolored in the style of Kill Bill my fave film so far.

I have tried to do a screen grab but no luck.

Before you copy over the existing files save a copy of them 1st

You clever git!! :D . That's really cool, front wheel needs a tweak though, looks like it has a black square on it ( not sure why though, I know it's not on any of the bitmaps, maybe something is the wrong size causing some overlap? )

Well done m8, now lets see some tracks!!

Kevlar

ps, this may be open to a bit more tweaking, I just doubled the size of the bikers head and it worked fine! :D

thanks kevlar. I know it needs alot of tweaking to get rid of the slight purple outline it has but if you blow up the originat artwork its got quite alot of colours in them. i'll have another go when i get more time. i might go for one of those petrol scooters next.Posted from my SmartPhone!

Nice work MavisDavis!!!!!!! It's great to see that you guys enjoy the game so much.

I don't think anyone has made any custom levels on the PocketPC, but you guys on the Smartphone are already adapting the biker :D .

Nice to see you here again Koen, is there any chance of Aim releasing any more custom tracks? Maybe even a track pack to be sold for a small fee, plus you could bundle it with the original game giving you the chance to promote this game again?

One other question, on your website the description of this game says that the game features horizontal and vertical parallax scrolling. This is obviously not the case, yes it scrolls both horizontally and vertically but there is only one layer to the scene therefore no parallax scrolling. Also the track description text file ( .lev ) shows opportunity for foreground and background images as well as the preview and alpha. None of the tracks in the game feature a foreground and background. Is this a feature that was dropped? or maybe just in the ppc version?

Enough questions

:D Thanks Aim 8) I was also wondering how you alter the gravity as you have on the Bonus level - Moon. I was thinking of trying to do a massive bouncy castle type thing?? Anybody feel free to adopt this idea if Aim reveals how this is achieved :D

Guest xavierjohn22

Its a color coding for slippery of the surface mate, blue red yellow white.

For the gravity just use the background file of the moon, notice that all of the other black backgrounds are .png file. Hope that gives you a hint, and challenge, after all, this thread and game is all about challenge. Goodluck.

by the way, i have the opportunity to play my clouds tracks, its completable. hi hi hi.

Currently there aren't any plans for this, unfortunately. But I'll see what I can do to get some more "official" tracks online.

As you might know I developed Trial Challenge first on the PocketPC. This version has paralax scrolling in it. The reason why we dropped the paralax scrolling in the Smartphone version is the amount of storage the levels would occupy. For each level we would need another background picture, and the game would then be too big to install. So this feature was indeed dropped.

On the website the feature list was probably just copy-pasted from the PocketPC (I am pretty sure it was copy-pasted :D ).

Thanks for the reply Koen, it would be great if you could release some more tracks, as you can see we have created a few of our own but not many, seems hardly anyone is still playing his game, or at least visiting this thread!

8) Here's my next creation

Its a Dude on one of those Petrol GoPed things, his head seems a little big but it adds to the fun of the game

Any suggestions for some more characters and I'll see what I can do and if anyone knows how to do a screen grab then let me know so I can post some pictures

Just over a year since I last posted on here. This brings back memories. The reason for my absence is I got a C500 and couldnt get on with the blooody rocker. Now we're back to a joystick and multipress working the game don't work :D

Koen if your still around mate is there any plans to get this working on the C550.

It loads up to the Play option then returns to the homescreen :D

I'd love to have this working on the new resolution screen and start customising again :)

@ xavierjohn22

Wonderfull work mate Im dying to get this runninbg and try out your new tracks

Hi guys,

By pure luck I stumbled across this forum again and saw you posted something new :D. The c500 and c550 are realy nasty devices for game development :D . The volume buttons, that trial challenge uses for acceleration/brake, don't give a clear down and up state, so those can't be used. c550 has a new resolution but unfortunatly I don't have one for development/testing. I realy need it to fix those issues, so I will push some people around to get my hands on one :) .

Anyway, we are now looking for some good beta-testers for our upcomming or updated products (games and applications). If anyone is interested, please mail me at [email protected] . Please also tell me which devices you currently have.

P.S.: I've had little time lately to look or respond to the custom tracks of xavierjohn, but they look great. As soon as I have some free time I will ride them.

They are called cab files. Using activesync, put them in Storage(or IPSM)\Windows\Start Menu\Accessories and then open the start menu on your phone, browse to your accessories folder and click on them. It will then install the tracks on the phone.

Hope that helps. :)
