Guest Thurstan Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 just got a replacement handset, tried to do the latest update and when the screen gets to "Checking your SPV blah blah blah" it just goes all flickery, turns the SPV screen on and off for a few minutes, then crashes the computer.... I'm running the latest ActiveSync - anyone have any ideas why this is so?
Guest martin Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 If it's a replacement E200 then you might have a later release of software than the Orange update. It wouldn't explain why your system crashes though :? See this thread for more info http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=109021
Guest Thurstan Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 ok tried this, seemed to work at first then everything froze - now the phone's stuck in bootloader - is it f**ked or what?
Guest G00n3r Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 My Orange SPV 200 update also crashed my pc, well, XP halts the prog before it crashes the pc. All I can say is keep trying, it took me about 8 attempts before finally the update worked, I tried turning off McAfee and most other non essential programmes and eventually it worked. Infact I have got it to update twice now on two different phones. I can't get the latest I-Mate software working tho, even with the hacked.exe, it either stays at 0% or gets to 10% and freezes. So I now have 2x E200's, both on Voda, both working with sim-free and application unlocked, one with a really crap joystick, may send it back to Orange for a replacement soon.
