Secure Digital card stopped working!!

I've had my SD card for a while now, but its stooped working out of the blue! I've never dropped it or bumped it or anything, but I put it in my phone the other day, and it wasn't recognised! I tried it in my PC's card reader and in my digital camera, and they don't 'see' the card either.

Has anyone else experienced this? Its the SanDisk Ultra II 256mb flavour. Do you reckon I can get a replacement from Sandisk, as it seems to be a problem with the card? Or is it possible the phone screwed it up? I really don't have the spare money to fork out for another one... :D

Doubt you'll get a reply from SanDisc

I registered my ultra2 card and after 3 weeks was not recognised by anything either so I emailed them and 6 months later still nothing. In that time I have purchased a 512 unbranded card for £20 less what the 256 cost me and I've not had any trouble since. Bye Bye Sandisc  Give me cheap n chearfull anytime :D

My spare card packed in a couple of weeks ago, same kind of thing, NOTHING would recognize it, in fact, it would get REALLY HOT when I put it in any device

It was a Lexar 512 MB SD card, I went on Lexar's website, and had a live messenger type chat with their support dept.

They then emailed me a returns code, and I sent the card back to them in California :D

One week later, to the day, I received a replacement from Lexar in the USA :D

Superb service 8)

Cheers guys.

I've contacted Sandisk's customer support through their website. Hopefully I'll have the luck Simon did.

I'll post the results (if any :? ) when I find out....

Fingers crossed.

I have had this problem twice now with 256 mb Sandisk ultra 2.

Plugged the card into my camera - all oK - then into the card Reader on the PC and it went dead. The supplier replaced it for me after a couple of weeks of emails. Tried the replacement and exactly the same thing happened again. The supplier refused to replace and blamed my equipment as faulty, had to take it up with Sandisk. Did get a replacement which I promptly sold off. Now I'm wondering where the problem lies as other standard speed SD cards seem to work fine.
