Guest jpm Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 Hi , does anyone know how to detect if the mpx200 is opened (such as when the light comes on or answer on flip) cheers :?:
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 The way the phone detects if the flip has been opened is a hardware configuration controlled by a magnetic switch. The magnet is located in the flip by the vibrate motor. For a picture of this have a look at my Naked MPX200 post in the MPX200 section of the site.
Guest phonesmarts Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 and it gives that satisfying and sometimes annoying "click"
Guest squall Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 in acutal fact i think its the hinge that "clicks" not the mag switch. And i must confess to often wearing it out to get some simple satisfaction :D Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Nope afraid the magnet does not cause the the click, that is caused by hinge spring that is used to hold the phone openclosed
Guest larsdennert Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 I think a key press 128 is sent whenever the phone is opened. It acts like pressing a button.
Guest g4mb17 Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Microsoft created VT_FLIP (working off memory here) for the purpose, and motorola didn't use it. riki
Guest gravity Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 It is infact a double click, I often play around with the flip too. Probably not designed to be played around with, but it's just fun.
Guest Pigo Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 I agree with gravity! it's fun playing around with it. but haven't had any bad after-effects because of it. still opens the way it did the day I bought it and still no movement in my hinge. STILL SOLID AS A ROCK 8) Pigo
