Guest American SPV Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 Hi everyone! :D I just joined the forums today after obtaining my first Windows Smartphone... To keep it to the point, it's awesome, even for someone who works around cellphones like I do all day. I'm a Retail Sales Representative for T-Mobile USA, and I am completely amazed at how much more advanced my Smartphone is (It's an Orange SPV that's been unlocked and brought over to the USA. Interestingly enough, I traded it for a Samsung E715. :D) over our most advanced devices we sell. It's also amazing that I can still use the various carrier-specific utilities, such as Orange Backup and Orange Update, even with my T-Mobile SIM inserted! Sorry if I seem like a kid in a candy store, but I am totally in awe over my SPV, and I can't even imagine how I got along without it. :lol: Josh Maerker -- Retail Sales Representative, T-Mobile USA -- User of the Sacred American SPV :D

There's nothing like a new smartphone...even if you're using an original SPV. (Try to read thru some of the bitterness here at times!) They just get better and better. The new devices coming out are very exciting. Let's hope we some see some more in the US very soon! I hope the site helps you out. Dont be a stranger. And spread the word about Smartphones and Modaco. :D
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 Welcome :D Now you have found MoDaCo have a look at www.monolithix.org for your freeware apps. and don't forget the two main apps you need are Smart Explorer and Task Manager by www.binarys.com Any problems just ask and you will soon be up and running again.
Guest American SPV Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Thanks for the warm welcomes! :D It's good to see that the enthusiam is shared for these devices all over the world. :D I went on and got my SPV Decert'ed, so I'm now free for some download fun... Before I get into that, I must ask... Is it unusual for both Orange Backup and Orange Update to continue working, despite the fact that it's not even operating on the Orange Network?

In fact, I did a hard reset and full restore on it today, using the Orange Backup, just to show off to my friends... Hehehehe now they're all wanting one. Josh
