Guest yellowcar Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 I know that in pocket pc, there is the active sync allow the sync of mobile favorite. But in smartphone, I don't see this feature. Is there any way to sync the IE mobile favorite through smartphone?
Guest maxh2003 Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Smartphone can't use the Mobile Favorites Activesync plug-in, sadly. Only Microsoft know why, I guess. Is there much demand for such a feature? I cobbled something together about a year ago which automatically (and silently) copies your favourites from PC to mobile every time you sync - when it's finished it pops up a notepad window showing everything it just copied. If there's any real interest (post here to register an interest!) then I'll try to package it up into a release. It might need a bit of tweaking to work on any particular PC (it's based around registry entries, DOS scripts and the freely-downloadable-powertoy Remote API) but it *does* work... and with simple modifications to the DOS script it can copy any files around, not just favorites. So you can use it to sync (any) files from your PC to your mobile. Plus, it would of course be free of charge, unlike some other sync tools :-D
Guest squall Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 Sounds like a useful app. The only other way is to save the shortcut to the device. If oyu want to do it that way you copy to ipsm/windows/favorites (Storage/windows/favorites for smartphone 2003). Posted from my SmartPhone!
