Guest chuckjustchuck Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 ok I'm using an Mpx200 on T-Mobile and would like to change the icon images themselves. Here's an image of icons I was thinking of changing them too. The only thing I can find that notes on how to change these is to use reshack. My only problem is that I am not being allowed to download the exe files. Please let me know how to be able to download them or if there is an easier way to do so. I am also using the smartOS theme if it makes any difference.
Guest drblow Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 The mpx200 is running WM2002, so you can change the icons on the homescreen shortcuts either using the Orange shortcut plugin (read the 'how to' document in the zip file in this thread HERE - or you could use the RJ shortcuts plugin. Neither will allow you to use the chicon value, which uses another icon for selected state (rather than just background colour), but you can still use the icons you want on the homescreen. You can download any of my homescreen files, and use reshack to change the .exe files in there. Reshack is by far the easiest way to do it! :D Hope that helps.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Hi, Most of the exe files in the root Windows folder cannot be copied. As what drblow mentioned, you can change the homescreen icons using RJ plugin...but not the icons of the exe inside the root Windows folder. I also have a hard time changing the icons of the built-in phone programs like WMedia Player, messenger etc...unlike the icons of 3rd party apps which are quite easy to change.
