Guest kalex Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 hi, I just got my 8390 few days ago and i was wondering if there is a way to uninstall built in PhotoID app? i want to use photo contacts 2.0 and don't like PhotoID that came with the fone. thanks alex
Guest kiwiguy Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 You cannot uninstall it, but you can disable it. Use phone explorer and browse to StoragewindowsStartup Delete the file named "PhotoID_Start.lnk" and then reboot. It will not start automatically anymore.
Guest Zim Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Nice fix there kiwiguy well done, i am gonna try to get a tweak, fix section for the mio on modaco, will be good to have it online.. somewhere infact got an idea. "Z"
Guest markgamber Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 FWIW and speaking of the startup folder, mine also came with a link to cstar in there which, as far as I've been able to figure, is a sort of T9 utility for Chinese. Not being able to speak, read or write Chinese, it's just dead weight AND it interferes with Xbar operation on the phone so I also deleted that shortcut. On the subject of XBar, I've only been able to get version 2.0 to work correctly. Has anyone been able to use anything after 2.0 (such as 2.2)? Later versions run for me, but when I hold the "fire button" down, the xbar window pops up with "waiting..." and disappears as soon as I release the button. Hardly useful. Thanks!
Guest the bishop Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 I have that photo contact program now too ... anyone know a way to take the hardcoded softkey on the right from the contacts that comes w/the phone to the cool photo contacts 2.0?
