Guest pcwizzul Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Hi to everyone! I'm a newbie about smartphone writing from Italy! I bought a used SPV canary yesterday (actually I have to receive it yet!) and I'm really excited about all the possibilities of that smartphone. But I'm writing to you because unluckily in the bid wasn't included the handsfree, so I'm looking for a compatible one. I've read your posts about the 2,5mm to 3,5 mm adaptor, but I'd prefer to have the microfone and the answer button as in the original one. Searching on the net I've found these ones which could work: - qtek 2020 stereo handsfree - qtek 1010 (is there any difference?) - nec e313 (somewhere I've read someone used it successfully) - motorola a835 - motorola mpx200 Do you have any info? Can you do some test for me? (I'd prefer not to buy all of them!) Thanks a lot in advance!!! Cheers Pcwizzul
Guest skinheadjc Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I used to have an spv and found the hands free really good (it has a volume control on the cable). Buy it from http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/accesso.../orange_spv/all I've now got a Motorola Mpx200, the handsfree supplied is no where near as good (doesn't have independent volume control and the headphone quality isn't as good), i still use my SPV handfree as its much better.
Guest skinheadjc Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I forgot to say :? , go for the stereo one. Its got the volume control on it, and its the same price. :D
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 The mpx200 will not work as they have a different pin out configuration.
Guest pcwizzul Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 skinheadjc can you use the original spv handsfree on the mpx200? even with microfone and button working?
Guest skinheadjc Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 hmm, only just got the mpx200 last week. the SPV hands free works fine for mp3's. just i hadn't received a call whilst in the car. Nope doesn't work   , Doh, Should have checked that first. :? :D The ring tone kicks in but you have to use the handset to answer/end the call, the microphone works fine. If you use your phone as an mp3 player alot it still works better than the mpx200 handsfree. I'm still gonna use it. I guess i don't have enough friends calling me! (or may be just enough friends! boo hoo  )
Guest pcwizzul Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 So the answer button doesn't work but the microphonne works. Interesting!!!! Thanks a lot for your help! Did you sell the SPV? Otherwise you could check if the mpx handsfree works on the SPV! Cheers
Guest skinheadjc Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Yep. same problem with the motorola handsfree on the spv, everything but the call answer/end button works.
Guest pcwizzul Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 For all of you who would like to buy a compatible handsfree I can say that these ones don't work (tried on myself) - motorola a835 (different plug) - nec e313 (different plug) - motorola mpx200 (same plug but only left or right earphone works) So I bought a good pair of sony Headphones and I made a stereo handsfree with a nokia mono handsfree (see this page for help: http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?op...d=117&Itemid=3) Now it sounds great! Btw I couldn't check the Qtek ones because in Italy most shops don't even know what Qtek is. Cheers! Pcwizzul
