My SAP's LCD Has Gone Wild

Hi guys, been a lurker of this wonderful site and now it's time for me to post.

Here's my problem, my SAP's LCD has turned into something indescribable, it's not dead but i can't see anything. Puro colored dots ang nasa screen nang phone ko. Ok, before it turned into that, its color changed (pale) two weeks ago. Pero ok lang kc nakikita ko pa naman yung menu, messeges, etc, etc. Now, can't see anything.

Called the Addict Mobile Hotline hoping that I will get something from them. They just advised me to bring the phone over to any Wireless Center.

Anyone here experienced the same problem? Help naman.

I suggest go to BRIGHTPOINT if you are from Manila for them to fix it.. Most probably your LCD is deffective..

I can hear the message alert clearly but I can't see anything... huhuhu

Nope, hindi naman nahulog yung phone. Here's what happened, starting from the time the LCD's color turned pale -

- My phone screensaver mode is on. One day or two weeks ago, while it's display is off (screensaver), It failed to activate even after a dozen of keystrokes were made. So I decided to just turn it off (and on), as useless, nag-hang na naman. But the power on/off button didn't work too. Ok, so I just took the battery off then had it back again. Alas, assoon as the spash screen was displayed (Simply Amazing), I noticed that the LCD's color was pale. Tried to play around by changing it's color in the settings but to no avail. Nagbago talaga kulay, namutla.

Ok lang, since I can still see the menu and everything. I was able to live with it until today, this morning. When the alarm went on, talagang nagising ako kasi, wala akong makita sa screen ng phone ko. It was filled with colored dots... huhuhuhuhuhu

Will visit BrightPoint this weekend. Magkano kaya yung LCD, baka tagain ako... huhuhuhu

... by the way, are there programs available where I can send/receive/ and READ my messages in my PC (while connected via ActiveSync)? My phone keeps on receiving messages, I just can't read them.

Yung Power Toys kasama na dun yung ActiveSync Remote Display.

Pag na install mo na, sync phone to PC, click icon ng ActiveSync Remote Display then yun na, ma vview mo na yung nasa phone mo.

Parang ganito...composed while naka RDC.

Maraming Salamat Sa Inyo!!!

A sigh of relief for me, I was spared of shelling out hard-earned bucks. My SAP's LCD is working again, miraculously. Here's the story -

I went to Brightpoint yesterday to have my unit serviced. As expected, they are for replacing the LCD. Cost is 5,750 (LCD) + 500 (Labor) = 6,250. Gee, I really had to think about it. But while I was talking to Honey, she handed me a flyer about Smart's 1-week Promo of Free Phones (I guess you already know that). Since my phone is already with their technician, I asked her to hold it off for a while. I immediately went to Wireless Center nearby but it's full-packed because of the promo. After spending some time thinking about it, I decided not to have my unit serviced, apply na lang ako sa promo. I went back to Brightpoint to get my phone and paid their diagnostic fee for Php 165.00. But lo and behold, when I was about to leave Ali Mall, for whatever reason, I tried turning on my phone - OK NA ANG LCD AT HINDI NA MAPUTLA. Sa sobrang tuwa ako, bumallik ako sa Brightpoint and asked them kung ano ang ginawa nila. E wala naman pala, mukhang nilinis lang. Hehehehe, whatever, what's important is, it's ALIVE!!!

Thanks guys for assitance. I'll also download those programs, it will come in handy in times of trouble.

And to Brighpoint Technicians, please take this as a lesson. Hindi yung palit kaagad ang verdict, pwede palang linis lang eh, worst is, hindi n'yo alam ok na pala yung unit. Buti na lang, madaling kausap si Honey.

Right!!! Palinis n'yo muna. I was about to learn that lesson the hard way, buti na lang. By the way, tinuloy ko na yung application ko sa smart for a voyager at plan 800. My wife will have my Tanager if my application gets approved. :P

wahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! so expensive!!! i dont know if cleaning will do kc bumagsak po yung SAP ko :cry: but might as well try to have it clean by BP, kung ndeh pwede... ano ba maganda unit???
