Anyone know if Orange are going to update MPX200 to WM2003?

Seeing as there is a rom upgrade out there. And seeing as it improved the performance of the phone I would have thought that it would be in Orange's interest to impress it's existing customers with how wonderful it's customer service and support is and release an official upgrade. Especially as all the advertising and the manual incorrectly stated that the MPX200 came with WM2003.

I may consider upgrading to the new MPx but not sure about the MPX220 (don't like how it looks), but until I do upgrade I would dearly love to have the MPX200 working top-notch. It's a wonderful phone and WM2003 would make it near perfect for me as I am not bothered about lack of Bluetooth or digital camera (I have a real one of those, so I don't need a mickey mouse one on my phone thank you). And if I can get the upgrade then I may just keep the MPX200 and still get the MPx.

Just try the rom mate, i'm on UK orange and it works great!

I can't see orange releasing the update though, there is no point in them spending money on an old phone, especially when you can get the rom off the net.

the point is, htis rom should never have been released, in fact, i'd actually say that moto are/will be pretty darn pissed as this could affect mpx220 sales, me thinks msmobiles could be in a huge amount of trouble over this.

I suppose the wm2003 factor is a big selling point from Motorola's point of view, but I would be surprised if the WM2003 rom affects the sales of the 220 that much. There are still plenty of bells an whistles on the 220 to tempt people and like you have said you don't get any support from anybody for the 200 wm2003 rom which will put a lot of people off flashing.

I have to wait until my contract runs out at the end of the year before I can upgrade my phone again, so this rom keeps me interested a bit longer.

Will be interesting to see if Moto does anything about it though.

This update is the ONLY reason why I'd now even consider buying another motorola. Before this I was ready to never buy moto again, so if anything, they've boosted future sales from my POV

Moto's position hasn't changed, they still don't want you to have the upgrade and if anything happens to your (our) phone, then there's no cover. So Motos is exactly where it always has been, stump up the pennies!
