I have an MPx200 with a 512MB SD card that I purchased late in 2003. It seems to be getting slower and slower. What are the main causes of over slow performance?

Could it be...

- the number of contacts? I have a couple hundred?

- the number of tasks? up to 50 at any time.

- the large SD card?

- The number of apps installed? Almost everything is installed on the SD card.

Any ideas of what I should look at?

It is so slow that at times a call will go into voicemail before it recognizes that i have pressed the send button.

50 tasks running? how many of those are non-system programs? ie programs like inbox, games, pocket IE etc? thats definatly the problem. Get something like xbar (do a search, xbar1 is freeware, and you have to pay for the better xbar2). Make sure you close all progs with xbar now and then. That should fix the problem.

Thanks and sorry for the confusion. By tasks I mean Outlook tasks. I run DeveloperOne Power Calendar to manage my appointments and tasks.

Make sure all your apps are installed on the storage card and not the phone. Also make sure you delete ols SMS and emails

from the Deleted Items folder as this can cause clutter.

The only app you must install on the phone is the jmms app

but that's one of the worst apps that cause slowdown.
