Guest supervan Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Does Smartphone 2003 support the 900 Mhz band? Where I live the cellphone networks only support the 900 Mhz band and I am afraid to Flash my phone to Smartpone 2003 and It no longer works.
Guest florin_m Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 So once and for ALL. If the phone has the tunnings for 900MHZ, flashing a new firmware it will NOT loose the 900 MHZ. It will loose JUST the OPTION 900/1800, but u'll have only 1800 instead of 900/1800 wich is basicly the same value for registry,it's just a LABEL! So just select 1800 (on wm2003) and is equvalent as selected 900/1800 on wm2002. SO IF the PHONE has been TUNNED for 900 MHZ it will have it regardless what firmare u have it (THE tunning settings are stored in different part!). So flashing a firmware IT will not ENABLE/DISABLE 900 MHZ. It will just change a LABEL! SO don't get conned by the ebay sellers!
Guest robt Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 My UK MPX200 worked fine on Vodafone (900) after flashing to WM2003.
Guest supervan Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 Thank you to Florin_M for your advice. I flashed my MPX 200 and it still works fine on the 900Mhz band.
Guest crawfrdb2 Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Super (or anyone else), Is there any way for me to tell if my mpx200 is 900MHz capable without being present in a GSM900 area at the moment? From your explanation here, I suppose the WM2003 can be flashed to my handset in any case and not worry about having removed any 900MHz hardware capability. Thanks.
