Phone Problems After 2003 Upgrade

I upgraded my phone to the 2003 rom but I am having problems turning my phone on.

When I turn the phone on, it hangs at the Cartman? screen. Nothing happens and I have to take the battery out. I have to do this several times before the phone will "boot".

Has anybody else come accross this problem ?

I have tried turning the phone on and off several times this morning and it seems to work OK.

The only difference I can tell is that when I have been having problems, it has been in a poor network coverage area. Now I am in a good area, it starts OK.

I will know for sure when I try it again this evening at home where there is poor network coverage.
