Guest Navec245 Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 I have read that due to the size of the 2003 program, there is far less memory than before to run programs. Has this been a major, minor or nonexistant issue for you who have upgraded? I'm likely to do the upgrade because I feel like I am missing out but want some feedback. Thanks!
Guest TANKERx Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 I run Xbar and I have noticed that while, under normal use with 2002 I would hardly use more than 50%, now with 2003, I'm hardly under 50%. For example, I'm using this now to type this after a day without a reboot, I have only PIE running and I'm using 58% of available program memory (that's just over 7Mb free). I think that if you use applications like Mobipocket or Mapopolis or anything else that is memory intensive, you will notice the reduction. That, along with the reduced internal storage makes me want to thank the hacker who did this for stripping some stuff out, and of those who got official upgrades, how much memory do they have!? Do I regret upgrading? I'm not sure.... But I would love to have a 2002 handy just go case. Posted from my SmartPhone!
