Guest Colonel Trouble Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Well here I am , back home after a lovely two week holiday to florida where I was having a great time , which was only hampered by the thought that my precious phone might be ruined :D Heres how it happened .. Discovery Cove last monday . Working prefectly , used phone in DRY changing area to delete some stuff from memory cards to use in my parents digi cam to take pics with , phone is working perfectly. I give the phone to my mum in her handbag for safe keeping .... After swimming with dolphins and lots of other fishes and sharky things (which was soo fun :D ) I come out to get changed , but only because the people where chucking everyone out of the water because of a thunderstorm above the park . After getting changed I went to the locker area (outside under a big straw hut) to wait on the family ... We are then all told that we cannot go outside untill the storm has passed for safety reasons so i think "hey , no biggie I'll just listen to some music on my phone" Its at this point when I turn it on its all wierd . The first thing I noticed was that the outside screen is all black , its not that the bits are off , in fact , its that theyr all on , not just the pixels or whatever would be used to say "motorola" and soforth . The next thing is that when the phone was working (open) , the screen was fluxuating , the blues on the mac os skin were changing shade etc and basically it was crapping up . I turn the phone off because i didnt want to risk more damage hoping that its just maybe interfearance from the storm above and lightening etc affecting stuff and that it would pass .... So ... since then in america I bought a power adaptor to plug my british charger into which I could see was working because the outside screen went on as it would when charging but fully with no picture . Now ... well ... its not going on completely at home , getting as far as the orange screen ... but im going to try another hard reset . Any help ?????! I was hoping that it was the battery duffed at most ... :D :D :D
Guest Colonel Trouble Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Well Ive managed to get it on after a hard reset , but I cant seem to boot it up on its own steam although the battery has enough power I think , it only turns on if I press the power button when its connected by usb to the pc ... Do you think moto or orange (my network) would repair it ?
Guest Kane Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 You need to phone up motorola and if it has been shipped from the warehouse in the past year they will repair it for free. I phoned up because my dads battery has broken, I know this because his phone only works with my battery :D Its freepost aswell I think, not definately sure.
