Tone trouble...

OK, i got quite good at making nice short tones; my next task was getting a whole song to work.

At the mo, if it goes over 250kb, the mobile won't play it back; any ideas?

I've got fairly short ones running at 1.3MB so I don't think it's the size.

Ditto, except more so!

(4Mb is the largest I've tried to shoehorn in as yet!)

Perhaps a bit on the large side though, memory wise....

Plus, you will go to answerphone LONG before you reach the end of the song! :D

Hmm. Well, they're all wavs, i've edited their rates etc to be the same as the ones i've got to work previously...

Odd. It just givces me the exclamation bleep when it tries to play them...

Right then, so what settings do you recommend for them, and more importantly where would you place the finished files? I'd put mine in IPSMs my sounds file, and some work...

I format mine to PCM 11,025 Hz, 16 Bit, Mono and put them into IPSM Application Data Sounds.

What about zipping the offending beepers and uploading them here ?

That way we can confirm that they're duds.

Ditto Disco Stu, though I am forever twiddling in cool edit pro trying to get a clear sound! Some sound superb, others are just utter trash! :?

But I'm pretty sure if the format is right and you put it in the right place then it can't fail to work? Seeing the trouble some people seem to have with these phones however, I'm quite willing to believe that yours is misbehaving in it's own special manner! :D

To MoDaCo or your phone? To your phone connect to activesync and then hit explore on activesync. To MoDaCo click the "Add an attachment" button in the post reply page.

Yep it plays on my SPV through the Sounds menu (WAV saved to Storage card).

Hmmm, quality is not too good though :?

Plays fine on my E200 too, but very quiet.

Have you tried using Windows Sound Recorder to improve the format as mentioned above ?

How much space have you got on the phone memory ? Perhaps there's not enough for the ringtone player to load it....am I making any sense.. I don't really know what I'm talking about...

Here's one of my big ones for info :
