a rom version nobody as ever heard of

hi all, i recently bought an e200 with ROM update versions : operrator 0.91.0.0 has anyone heard of this version ? i cant update my phone at all as i recieve an image file checksum error ? it appears the phone has never been locked to any provider there is no little orange logo on the case no i-mate no nothing, plus it has some strange htc software on it stress/vibrator test/debug settings ect are they on all e200's, ideally what i want to do is remove this software and install orange software on it, any help gratefully accepted

Download the latest E200 rom available from the Orange website and try flashing in the Canary screen.

cheers for a reply m8, could you elaborate alittle more, what ya mean flash on the canary screen ? i know how to get the canary screen, i know how to hard reset, whats flash exactly ? i see there is an option to reformat have been very tempted to just do it and format the poxy phone but i think an "update" wont help me if i do that i figure i would need a complete version of windows to reinstall if i do ?? anyone think im right or am i tallking crap ?

hi

to get to the canary screen, turn the phone on and hold the voice record button

from there put your phone in the cradle and you can run the orange rom update and it should flash the phone to the latest verson (2.6.something)

right forgive me for being stupid here, what screen is the canary screen ?? is it the blue/red/green striped screen or is it the blue screen with numbers 1-8 on it ? maybe this is the prob with my rom ? i only get a canary when switching the phone on and holding nothing

ignore my last post...........beersoft i love you man, i got it updated but now i got a simlock :P its says network subset is locked please input unlock code ............any ideas of the code ??

You need a SIM unlock code which is only available through www.imei-check.com

now that i have managed to update my phone but have a sim lock does this mean that my phone which was previously unlocked to any network is now locked ? is that what simlock means ?

is it normal to get the message "network subset is locked please enter unlock code"

Just out of intrest...if you're not using an Orange sim, why do you want the Orange rom? You could try flashing to the latest I-Mate rom and see if you're still sim locked. The I-Mate rom is better than the Orange rom anyway.

i have got an orange sim, plus ive tried the i-mate rom and still its sim locked :cry: ive even located a spve200 unlock tool that retrieves the sim lock cod from your phone but hey guess what ...............it doesnt work :cry: :cry: :cry: god knows what i do now

Well as i see it you have two options:

1) Take it back

2) See if florin_m can offer any help
