Guest NoBackUp Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 The local dealer has dropped the price for ALL smart phones three times in the last 3 weeks. example the XDA II has gone from USD 800 to 600...similar reduction on the SmartPhone 2...they sent SMS's to all their customers...and they are the biggest here in the UAE) I called to ask why the drop ...for the XDA and Smartphone 2 (imate) they said that they wanted to clear the stock before the next shipment arrived....so sounds like something is about to happen...perhaps the c500 or the XDA III will be announced here within the coming month...
Guest kyrkesmith Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I hear the XDA III isn't that good anyway; unless you want the sliding keyboard thing, the XDA II is better. Smartphone launches shouldn't affect PPCPE prices, but they may well do.
Guest NoBackUp Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I belive its something to do with more competition....HP63xx MoTo MPx so the fat days of single vendor may be over !. I had alook at the QT8010 I think this and a HP6310 is the way to move forward.... GiTex is in October thats like the local CeBit...all suppliers have released either to the world or at least to the middle east at this show for the last 2 years so that is probably a factor to consider...and yep I hope they skip the MDAIII here and go straight for the MDA IV...now that would be cool
