Guest elhornet Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I'm currently using a e200 but was very tempted to go with a qwerty phone at the time I signed up for this one. So whats the best one out there? Treo? Blackberry? Which one would you buy? And is there any smaller ones on the way? :D
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 My advice would be to wait for the Motorola MPx or the XDA 3 which both look pretty cool (I've used the MPx and it's very nice), or even try and get your hands on the Voq Professional Phone for a play - it's quirky, but taking into account the full QWERTY keyboard, it's not overly large. The Voq is well made with an innovative software suite, expect a full review here very soon. If going down the Treo route, make sure you use one before you buy (screen is poor resolution, and i'm still not 100% convinced by the keyboard), and bear in mind there are rumours of a successor with a better screen and updated PalmOS. Guest TANKERx Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I say wait for the new Nokia Communicator (unless you need a Microsoft system). I'm still using my old 9210 because it's solid as a rock and the new one looks so cool! Kind of like the 9210 is Donkey from Shrek and the new Communicator is Donkey after the magic potion from Shrek 2 ;-)
Guest midnight Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 ouch, i used to have a communicator, biggest pile of cr*p i've ever owned to be honest, its just a huge brick of a thing, and pretty embarassing using as a phone, then again, i suppose using a ppc pe as a phone is just as embarassing. At least the MPx is attempting to be small enough to be useable as a phone, and the OS is much better than the Symbian os for pocket pc style tasks.
