Setting Ringtones on WM2003

Hi,

I just got my Motorola MPX200 with the Windows Mobile 2003 update. Can someone please tell me how to set a wma file as a ringtone? I would prefer if it could be accessed on my SD card, but if that is not possible, thats no problem.

I just don't know where to put the wma file in order to set the ringtone as that... Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Gary

I thought the WM2003 can play WMA files and MP3 files as ringtones...

Where do I place the wav files and midi files?

The location to store .wma, MIDI and .wav files as ringtones is Storage/Application Data/Sounds. It's better to use .wma files with WM2003, as they load up much faster than .wav files. And, AWARNER, you can use .wma files with WM2003, because I have about 7 on my phone as we speak. Once you update the ROM to WM2003, .wav files work as ringtones now. .mp3 files, however do not work. But, .wma files are just as good because they are a helluva lot smaller than .wav files, therefore you can hold more files on the device.

when i click on explore on activesync, the folders available are

IPSM, Storage Card, Temp, and Windows

which directory do i go in to store wav ringtones on my SD card?

do i just put them in the Storage Card folder??

create a new folder in storage card and name it My Documents. then just put the wavs in there.

thanks for the guide, i have a mpx200 with wm2003.. i try to make my own wma ring tones but everytime i try to set them in my phone it doesn't play and the phone doesn't allow you to select it (the tone is in the list, just that it doesn't exit outta sounds after pressing "done" repeatedly).

What bit rate and settings would you recommend for wma tones? appreciate your advise.

thanks
