Ruttensoft is proud to announce the Release Candidate 3 of Media Remote 2004

 What is it?

Media Remote 2004 is a Remote Control for Smartphones for controlling the Windows Media Player on your desktop PC! It does not use short-range Infrared but long-range Bluetooth. The only thing you need to have is a Smartphone with Smartphone 2003 and Bluetooth (SPV E200/Qtek 8080 etc) and a Bluetooth-Port at your desktop PC (bluilt-in or USB-Dongle)

It is working in the cradle too but then you are not that free!

 How is it working?

To connect, you have to connect your Smartphone with Activesync, then start the Server on desktop-PC and then start the Client on your Smartphone! It is then autoconnecting

At first use, you can insert up to 9 Playlists into the Server which you can later select on your Smartphone to start playing! (You can start from Server too)

 What possibilitys do I have?

Here is the list of features of Media Remote 2004:

Joystick up: Volume up

Joystick down: Volume down

Joystick press: Pause

Joystick left: last song

Joystick right: next song

Key 1: Shuffle on/off

Key 2: Mute on/off

Key 3: Repeat on/off

Key 4: Fullscreen on/off

Key 5: Shutdown desktop PC

New:

Key 6: Fast forward (only MP3/WMA, not video!)

Key 7: Show/hide Server

You can select one of the 9 Playlists:

Hi,

Will you include Winamp control again in any future releases ??

Thanks

Jason.

Hm, we are considering this, but actually we integrated a player into the server and are not remotly remoting WMP... that's better to control...

But we will surely implent a function to import Winamp-Playlists...

I get the same error but the app runs and after the first run it works without the error..

Though this app misses something I just neeeeed to have for my playlisting, Add directory. I have got all my music in category folders with category folders per artist and sometimes even per cd... that adding 1000+ songs one by one is really unreasonable :).

Also when adding a bigger list of files i got the error that i had to add less files at a time? that isn't much goodo ey..

Though i hoped it would just controll an Windows media player instance or something instead of it's own. since i already have a nice set playlist and all :P

Er bandwidth? WM9 take bleeding ages do anything on my pc with an ATA133 connection, let alone a limp little bluetooth one.

Although if you want no feedback to the phone, you could just use normal PC control software.

I have got it working now, it was because i only had w.media player 8 (even though w.media player said there was no available updates) I downloaded v9 from Microsoft and now it works.

Very impressive tool indeed!

Useful for watching DVD's too! Not just music.
