App unlocking a smartphone 2003 on an mpx200? Is it neccessa

Getting my UK Orange mpx200 delivered to my door in the net few hours - I already have one but it has gone mad so getting another one free. Question - I am planning to upgrade to smatphone 2003 as soon as i get it BUT do i need to app unlock it first or does the rom upgrade do this?

Any advice would be wicked! Cheers Guys.

no need to app unlock the phone, works fine with all apps i threw at it so far...

as for looking for an unlocked phone, go on ebay, there's plenty of them there....you should easily get one for under 200usd

Remember upgrading to 2003 will invalidate your warranty.

seriously if he's getting the phone from a third party i doubt he's got warranty anyways...

the fact that the firmware source is anything but motorola official website, should be obvious you're doing something naughty to the phone :D play at your own risk!!

on a good note, no failures are really reported after doing the flash so atleast you wont get a brick :lol:

If you read the first post it indicates that his original phone

was faulty and so getting a replacement otherwise how would he get one for free?

The only mention of getting a phone from a third party is the referance for where to get an MPX200 for his boss.

regardless if people bother reading any of the threads aobut this firmware it should be pretty clear its a play at your own risk kinda thing....

Awarner - Thanks for your concern about the warranty - It is brand new you were correct, but Orange UK are excellent at replacing things when they go wrong and just send new ones out to customers after a couple of questions ie the IEMI number and thats it.

Used phone is for my boss at work who has now become a fan - something to do with me constantly telling him about software ive got to do things.

there is always a nice generic wm2002 you can download if you hate WM2003, so you can always go back to an unbranded 2002 if something goes wrong or you dont like it...

I cannot install Agile messenger. It comes up with the unsigned error!!! I have upgraded to wm2003. Before upgrading I had no problem. Anyone else have this problem? I also tried to decertify with No Warez and alphaflux with no success. Please help.
