Guest Sasuke Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 In case anyone was wondering, if it was possible to use a 3G sim in an MPx200. i can now confirm that it is. I brought a cheap 3G handset today for £30 on 3pay just to used the cheap cross network calls. but now i can have cheap cross-net calls and a nice sleek handset (MPx200) at the same time! 8) also, because 3G network is backed by 02. the network is really great on the MPx200. im sitting at home with full bars, as with orange i would be lucky to get even 1 bar. now before you go out and rush to get hold of a 3pay sim (if you do). remember, your MPx200 handset must be network unlocked.
Guest Sasuke Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 ok, just found out that the 3G sim also works in my SPV100. but not my Nokia 7210, which was also network unlocked. :P
Guest mcwarre Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Sasuke, Hate to tell you...... I did this for 3-4 months no problem. However, when you access the 3 network or O2 network (indeed any) it uses your IMEI number as part of the registration (to ensure not nicked). 3 have monitors in place to see who is accessing the O2 network with a non-3 IMEI. They will send you out an updated SIM which will block this; happened to me and us all over time...... If your 3 SIM is not registered to you they will send out the update to where it is registered and block the old SIM so you are in danger of losing your access..........
Guest Sasuke Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 damn! well thanks for the warning :P
