T-Mobile/T-Zones questions

Hi all.

Got my Mpx200 unlocked via IMEIcheck.com, and I love it. Just a few questions, however, about the internet services.

1. Do I need to have T-Zones enabled on my account in order to use the GPRS settings posted everywhere? I put the GPRS settings in correctly, but it's still not able to connect. FWIW, it's showing a G in the upper right hand corner whenever I try to connect to anything internet-related, but not at other times.

Actually, that's the only question. Any help would be awesome.

If you are in the US you can usually set your EI connection to WAP and surf. To use internet with GPRS Internet connect you with full port access (other than80) you need a data plan.

Okay, I signed up for T-Zones data plan.

However, when I try to connect via IE or MSN or anything, it says "Dialling" in the upper left corner, with a G in the upper right. After a few moments, it says "cannot place call" or something of that sort.

I put the GPRS settings in described everywhere for T-Mobile. I *did* flash the phone -- not the WM2003 upgrade, but the regular one posted elsewhere.

Any help?

Okay, this is weird.

I re-did my T-Mobile GPRS settings.

When I'm connected to my computer via ActiveSync, I can browse websites on the phone with no problem. However, once I disconnect it, I get the "Dialling" and "G" and "unable to place call."

Any ideas?

I already signed up for T-Zones -- the unlimited access should be up by now. However, whenever I try to connect, it says "dialling" and always gives me an "unable to place call." I'm wondering what the problem is.

It might not be setup right.

When you turn on your phone you should automatically get a G displayed in the top centre of the phone which indicates that you are GPRS attached. If you don't get a G then you may need to contact your T-mobile.

To get connected you need to create a GPRS connection, attach it to the Internet connection and then tell internet Explorer to use the Internet connection.

Goto Settings-Data connections

Menu-Edit connections

Create a GPRS connection

Description: T-Zones GPRS

Connects to: The Internet

Access Point: wap.voicestream.com

In Settings-Data Connections make 'Internet Connection: T-Zones GPRS'

Goto Internet Eplorer, Menu-Options-connections

Untick auto detect settings and make 'Select network: The internet'.

If you get an error 'unable to connect' then edit the GPRS conenction and try Access points internet2.voicestream.com or internet3.voicestream.com

Hopefully it should work :P

I've got GPRS settings inputted correctly. Have tried all three -- wap.voicestream.com, internet2.voicestream.com etc. Still no connection to the internet or G.

T-Mobile support says this thing shouldn't even be dialling, and that i need to turn off CSD? Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

you need to call them if you fix the dial problem and tell them to add your phone to wap when its on.

you can also tell them you need the over-the-air programing set to your phone again for data. ask for data services and tell them you have the mpx
