Guest revo Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 is it possible to use 3 sim on unlocked spv e200?
Guest mcwarre Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Hi, And welcome to the site. It is but only until 3 realise you are doing it (the SPV E200 IMEI is not one of their phones so they know) then they will issue you with a new sim and block the old one. Normally takes about 2-3 months..........
Guest alang Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 It may never work with a standard 3 sim, I believe that they are a different format, if you get a no or insert sim message you will have to order a different SIM card
Guest Cybertronic Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 They also use a different network, we are using 2G, 3 is obviously using 3G
Guest alang Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I've checked 3 use a USIM card, which is set up to handle 3G communications, Orange will be using these when they launch their 3G network, but there is no guarantee that these will be compatible with non 3G phones
Guest mcwarre Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 They also use a different network, we are using 2G, 3 is obviously using 3G But as their coverage isn't fully UK wide yet, they 'piggy back' on the O2 network (2G) when there isn't a 3G signal. So what people do is try to make it stay on 2G permanently. This means that you can use a standard (better) phone with improved battery life and not keep getting dropped calls when it switches between 3G and 2G.
