Guest TANKERx Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I'm a coward and I went back to WM2002 on my MPx200 using the German generic ROM that's been going around. However, when I install jMMS it scres up my InBox and no Homescreen beyond the built in ones work (they come up with 'No Valid Homescreen was found...'). I have applied the jMMS fix which is posted on this site, but nothing to do. When I click on 'New' in the InBox, it just hangs for a few seconds and then does nothing. I don't understand how jMMS can be affecting the Homescreen in this way since not even homescreens which have no Message counter will load. Can anybody help please? TIA
Guest squall Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 strange things can happen if you install jMMS to the sd card, If you did id either hardreset again, or try uninstalling and reinsalling to phone
Guest AvWijk Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 You use now 2002? Why don't you use the original Moto MMS software?
Guest squall Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 the origianal 2002 rom mms client doesnt come on the phone it comes on the cd. after hard reset you loose it, just like the task manager etc so you have to install it from the cd
Guest AvWijk Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I have the original MMS client on CD, there was no other MMS client on the phone :P EDIT
Guest TANKERx Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Hi, Thanks for the replies. I have tried installing the jMMS software onto the phone and I also ran the Alphaflux unlocker type thing which resolved some unlcok issues, but none of them seem to have improved the MMS issue. Once installed, I do a reboot of the phone and it sticks on the 'Operator Logo' screen for much longer than normal before giving a completely blank Homescreen. Hrumph! Could this be a language thing d'you think? It is a German ROM and maybe because I have an English MMS client, it thinks it's somewhere else?
Guest squall Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I would hard reset agian and install the Jmms app to the phone. First boot after hard reset takes longer. Sounds like you may have a corrupt registery. The jMMS app is copyright and cant be freely distributed
Guest HiJAK Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 its a problem with that particular rom ur using. being totally honest with u, get rid of it, when i first used that rom it was fine for a few days then had all sorts of problems with it, changed to the 2003 one and found it more reliable, there is one generic rom ive tried that is 2002 which has no issues at all. and was as reliable as 2003 with mms, just not as fast as 2003.
