Guest orcinus Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Again, sorry if this was discussed before. I'm new here and so far haven't found anything on the subject using forum's search facility. That said, it seems that file "icons.bmp" in Windows directory contains all the icons and graphics for the MPX's external LCD. However, simply replacing the file with a customized version was to no avail - the one on the phone gets successifuly overwritten, but reverts to the original version upon next reboot. My best guess is it's contained in the non-volatile ROM and just gets copied over in the user-accessible partition on boot. I tried searching through the registry for the filename, but found no mention of it. Any ideas anyone? Orcinus PS: I'm NOT, and i repeat once again NOT! talking about external LCD logo here! I'm talking about the bitmap containing the icons, glyphs and analog clock/date graphics.

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I've not seen any way to changealter the clock in the registry to point it to a new location, the only change is the Image when the flip is in it's open position Anything you place in the main Windows folder will be lost as this gets re-written on every startup.
Guest orcinus Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 (this feature is lost in the 2003 German version :D) It is? It doesn't even work if you add the relevant key entry yourself? :/ I'll have to try that out (haven't yet on 2003)... Anywho, concerning the icons.bmp - thanx for confirming my findings. I was really hoping i could skin the external LCD, but the way things look like now, it's not possible without hacking/tampering with the ROM image. If anyone finds anything, give a yell! :P Orcinus
