Guest cygwinxp Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 When I got my MPx200, I found that the battery life is too short (around one day). I sent it to Moto service. They did something for my phone. After that, it can last around 3 days. But it works a few weeks and the battery life become around one day again. Any ideas about this ? I am thinking whether it will be better if I upgrade to WM2003.
Guest squall Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 its likely they hard reset the device, which would clear everything you installed off the phone. In future be sure to intsall everything to the storage card except the jMMS app. I wouldnt install the caller id app if you have it, it seems to use lots of battery life. The 2003 rom update doesnt seem sable, with many bugs, i wouldnt recomend upgrading as you will lose your warrenty
Guest cygwinxp Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Does it help, if I do a hard reset myself ? I don't want to go service center every few weeks.
Guest squall Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 I was meaning do it yourself. Click on the words hard reset for instructions
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Fully charge the battery before doing a Hard Reset
Guest AvWijk Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 ALWAYS flash- or hardreset your phone with the battery fully loaded. Even plug in the adaptor when you plan to do some small updates like the GSM-fix. Remove the adaptor plug when the battery is not charging anymore. I have done the update to 2003; and after 3 days my battery is still 60%, its amazing
Guest cygwinxp Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I did a full charge and hard reset. It looks much better now. It reduces only 4% for about 8 hours. That means it can last about 3 days now. I noticed that the first 10% of battery life can last about 1.5 days and the rest only can last another 1.5 days. Once the battery level goes to below 50%, it is going to die very soon. I must charge it, once I notice that.
