One handed SMS on XDA 2

I love being able to write what I want to say in text. However, although the text recognition is fantastic on the XDA 2, I would like to have a application/program that uses the dialing screen or a similar looking GUI so you could use T9 and the buttons to text. I find that it is nigh on impossible to text/write while walking along!

If there is anyone out there who knows of a program or a programmer that I could assit in making this sort of app. I would be very greatful.

I also think that many other PPCPE owners would benefit from this sort of app as it would make the switch from a normal mobile/smartphone easier to stomach. It would also go that bit further to making a true convergence device!
