Guest JTHM Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Folks, due to security issues my company has just banned camera phones from anywhere on site. I don't use the camera and so I ask is there any way to permanently disable the camera without killing the phone? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I don't think this is possible, but what if you mash up the camera? Well, sensible of course (!) - take it apart and then take it out? Or what if you take the battery out and then take out the little camera bit out if that's possible? Failing that, just drill a pin in it?
Guest Cybertronic Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Just try and find the .exe to the Camera's application and delete it :P
Guest beersoft Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 depending on how strict they are, you could get a krusell case and use that. the e200 one has a flap for the cam but the e100 one fits and doesn't have the cam flap later Owen
Guest JTHM Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Just try and find the .exe to the Camera's application and delete it :P I've found the Camera.exe and Camcorder.exe files in both SmartExplorer and ActiveSync but the files are read only (can't find a way to change the attributes) so I can't do anything with them. All it seems I can do is delete the shortcuts and paint over the camera lens....not sure I fancy the idea of drilling it as I'm bound to go too deep. The case might be an option until the company carry out an audit. Thanks all!
