Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 How do I get it working? Changed Settings in MMS Composer and the MMSC settings within that.....how do I get to the Orange MMS screen to change the Access point? I'm confused, how about a step by step guide anyone?
Guest mthomas50 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 A step by step guide eh? First things first - below are the details I took from my Orange E200 UK before I flashed with the Imate ROM (you don't need all of these settings but they were on the Orange ROM so why not?) :P Go to Start - Settings - Data Connections then press Menu - Edit Connections and add in each of the following: Proxy Connections Name: Orange WAP Proxy Connects From: The Internet Connects to: WAP Network Proxy: 192.168.71.35 Type: WAP Username: blank Password: blank GPRS Connections Name: Orange GPRS Connects to: The internet Access point: orangeinternet This is the important one for MMS Name: Orange MMS Connects to: Work Access Point: orangemms Name: Orange WAP Connects to: The internet Access Point: orangewap Now Open up MMS Composer and choose Settings Change Max Sending Size to 100K Change No of Attempts to 3 Change Connect Via to Work Then Choose Menu and then MMSC Settings Edit the default Profile and change the following: Change Name to Orange MMSC Change MMSC URL to http://mms.orange.co.uk/ Change WAP Gateway to 192.168.224.10 Now please bear in mind these are for Orange UK only - if you have any problems reply and I'll see what I can do. Hope this helps Mark
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Ok I've done all that.....thanks greatly, just need to try it out! On a side note, I will need to go back to the orange Rom to retrieve my numbers from Orange back up and use something else like Sprite backup to retain them - How do I do this as I keep getting error 113 or 117 dependant on the two methods I try to put the old orange rom on it.
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Just read your response on the other thread! Thanks again. Out of interest, how did you back up all your contacts etc?
Guest mthomas50 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I just use Outlook to synchronise my contacts - that way it doesn't matter what I do to my phone, i can just sync with outlook and everything is back again :P One of the few Microsoft programs that i cannot live without :D
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Can't get back to the orange Rom.....arrrrggh! Help!
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 By the way, you CAN get Orange Backup and Orange Update to work on the imate ROM :P The exes and dlls used in these two "Orange" apps seem to be some of the few files that aren't "locked" if you copy them over from an Orange ROM to the imate one :D Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Yes i know, but was gonna get them off back up once back with the UK Orange Rom.....sync them to Outlook, then re-install the imate rom and sync them back over. Problem is it won't let me flash back to the UK Orange rom!
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I can recieve MMS on the imate Rom now thanks to the settings above, but it won't download them to open them? Have I missed something?
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Yes i know, but was gonna get them off back up once back with the UK Orange Rom.....sync them to Outlook, then re-install the imate rom and sync them back over. Problem is it won't let me flash back to the UK Orange rom! No need to go back to the Orange ROM (if you only want to get your contacts back) :P Unzip this folder, copy the folder to Program files on your phone, browse to the Orange Back-up exe, (or create a shortcut) After a few warnings that the program is from an unknown source etc. Orange Back-up and Update will work on your Imate ROM 8) Then get your contacts back from Orange :DOrange Back-up & Update.zip
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Is this works I'll be a very happy man indeed! :P The only problem now being opening up MMS messages.....
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Can get the program running ok but when trying to restore my data I get a network error?? Any ideas?
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Can get the program running ok but when trying to restore my data I get a network error?? Any ideas? Can you get on the internet on other sites :?: Are your Internet Settings correct :?: Good news that the app is working though :P
Guest kiddybaggie Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Yes can get on the internet alright. Can't open up MMS files I've recieved though....is there a link between orange backup/update and the MMS settings? Some settings are wrong somewhere along the line but I'm sure I've double checked and triple checked.
Guest mthomas50 Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Hello, Sorry to hear you are still having problems. Out of curiosity try changing my suggestion above of: Name: Orange MMS Connects to: Work to The Internet Access Point: orangemms Then in MMS Composer - Settings Change Connect Via from Work to The Internet Let me know how it goes...
