Just had an upgrade to 1.6 done and want to unlock it to be used with a different network. Also would like to know if it is possible to download software onto the spv via active sync...that is meant to be downloaded to a palm. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Anyway, I appreciate the information, but cannot understand the website article as even in english I still do not know what it's talking about. I actually have a "smartphone 2004" cd but don't have any instructions. When I click on the unblock link it says it cant access the phone and that I must terminate something (don't know what) and something about bootloader mode. I really don't want to mess it up as I just got it back from canary (i tried to update it with 1.6), didn't work...so lost all the memory. Just don't know what to do with it as I am not up on phone technology.... :?
Guest squall Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 Procedure: 1. Pressing alt-cntl-del ont he pc select task manager. 2. In taskmanager terminate the process called "w_____com" (I cant remember what the full name is but its something like that) 3. switch of the phone, then switch it on holding the power and record button, after about a minute or so you will see a 3 coloured screen. 4. Connect cradle to pc and insert phone into cradle. 5. Run the sinunlockv_2 app 6. write down the code obtained from the unlock program 7. restart phone with sim card from a locked network (IE not the network you normally use) 8. Enter code when prompted. 9. restart pc Thats all, i cant see anything going wrong. Post back if you have problems. Be aware you need a pc with win2002/xp to be able to do this. Just got the unlock task done...was ready to sell the phone and get rid of it...but am very pleased it worked out and much happier now. Anyone know how to put internet settings for o2 pay as you go and mms on it? Thanks Again...Steve

Guest usdiver Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 Just to say...I have had to use settings and mix them a little from two different places...and I've got it connecting...but it says my browser is rejecting cookies when I try to sign in to say, ebay or something like that and the o2 website says my browser needs updated then puts me on to the windows page. When I try to click on something it times out a lot...plus I don't have a clue where to go from there or what update I need or even which version I have. Any suggestions?
