Guest flashflash Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 After all the hastles of flashing WM2003 and resetting everything, is this new update any different? has the name version and build number, so whats new?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Just for the language support alone it makes it worth while :P I've not looked too deeply into changes at the moment as I am running an E200 for test purposes atm.
Guest Kingcory Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Looks alot better to me and seems to run alot smoother also if you dent like 2003 you can always just flash 2002 back to the phone ( If you have Dloaded it ) :P
Guest mischievous Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I did the upgrade mainly because of startup screen, but also hoping that the "click" noise at startup I experienced with first would go away. It did, and for some reason it seems faster too. Why, I have no clue. It's really not big deal to do if you use Sprite Backup before doing the 2nd upgrade. Sprite Backup has a free 10 day trial. I only had to redo a few shortcuts I'd changed on startup screen. Took maybe 10 minutes total.
Guest kurtfhouse Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I did the 'upgrade' to wm2k3 2 last night, mainly because I had nothing better to do as I was nursing a pretty impressive hangover :P I can't say its faster at all? The startup screen is the only real difference I've noticed, if you have 2003 up and running in your native language can't say its a MUST Just my humble opinion though
Guest TANKERx Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I've not been able to get my phone back to a 2002 build that runs MMS properly (or at all) and I've done more hard resets in the last few days that I've ever done before. My advice is; Until you're really don't care that you won't be able to get back to 2002 (even if you can), don't do it.
