Guest craigp Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I have just upgrade my MPX200 to 2003 and have hit a MAJOR problem (for me) In 2002 whilst the SMS alert was playing I was able to stop the sound by using the down-volume. This no longer works in 2003! This means you HAVE to listen to the full WAV at full volume even AFTER you've read the SMS!! PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A SOLUTION! Craig PS Short ringtones are no good as it is paramount I am woken up overnight! (unless the sound can be repeated UNTIL I READ THE MESSAGE)
Guest kurtfhouse Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I'm sure I have silenced my little beast with the volume rocker switch since upgrading??? I may have been on a phone call though not SMS can't remember, will check nect time I get a text
Guest crafty Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 you don't have to wait to get a text to check this - you should be able to mark a message as unread to get the same effect.
Guest kurtfhouse Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Cheers crafty  I think mine is the same actually, must have been for a phone call then. Its hard to tell on mine though as I have a short message tone, will test with a longer one..................
Guest kurtfhouse Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Yep, same bug, how f*cking annoying
Guest midnight Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 hmmm, you should be able to reg tweak this so that on keypress it turns the sounds off, similar to my led tweak, but instead on keypress play a blank wav once :P
Guest craigp Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 midnight, I would be eternally grateful if you could expand on that. I am aware you can put 'scritps' in the registry keys but I don't understand how I could play the empty WAV on a keypress. Also, how would this work anyway given that the MPX200 will play simultaneous tones (i.e. if you get 2 SMSs nearly at the same time then you will hear two SMS alerts played slightly out of sync) Please correct me and help me fix this problem  Craig
Guest midnight Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 i said 'should' :P i have no idea if it will work, and i dont have an mpx200, so i dont have a way of playing around with this i'm afraid.
Guest craigp Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Fair enough of course midnight! :P Would you happen to know then if this is a MPX200 (upgraded to 2003) quirk rather than a 2003 operating system feature? (or do you not have any 2003 device?) Cheers for trying either way m8! Craig
Guest kurtfhouse Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 craigp I'm a bit busy at work now for a couple of days but if you want I will have a fiddle and see if I can get Midnights suggestion to work? Doesn't effect me that much but little things like that really bug me :P
Guest craigp Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 kurtfhouse, If you could take a look it would be most appretiated. I find it really frustrating when 99% of things about the smartphone are brilliant yet fundamental things like this are neglected :P Fingers crossed and thanks again! Craig
Guest sifaan Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 Fair enough of course midnight! :D Would you happen to know then if this is a MPX200 (upgraded to 2003) quirk rather than a 2003 operating system feature? (or do you not have any 2003 device?) Cheers for trying either way m8! Craig <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have an i-mate SP3i and this also has the same problem... so I'd guess it's a 2003 OS problem /Sifaan
Guest TimJBart Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Any solutions yet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm keen for an answer too, surely it'd be easy for some clever fellow on here to solve this prob?
Guest rodg98133 Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 I have a C500 running 2003 and I am not really aware of this happening to mine.
