Guest comdw Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 I have an SPV with the latest ROM update (1.6) that lets you select ringtones from the storage card without having to use an extra piece of software to tweak the registry. I have the ringtones stored in storage cardmy documents . Whilst I have no problems selecting these ringtones from the settings->sounds screen, I can't select them from the 'choose custom ringtone' part of the contacts edit screen. Am I doing something wrong or is this just something they forgot to fix in the ROM update? Any help appreciated.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 It's not something they forgot, custom ringtones from the storage card it's a feature that has never been implemented.
Guest yoos Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 i know this one has been brought up several times over the last year+, but it seems like such a basic thing for a very long time. I can't believe they haven't implemented this yet... is there ANYTHING we can do to help push this? For example, is there someone we can contact to request/complain. The things that still bother me most (functionality wise anyways) are this one, the Voyager auto answering when the joystick is pressed in, the placement of where the alarm is in the settings, the placement of the alarm snooze (under a menu), not able to have multiple alarms, and no alarm plug-in. I know about the settinigs tweak, alarm plug-ins available, and third party alarm programs that are out there... but shouldn't this stuff be standard in phones? just feel like ranting tonight....
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Just posted a similar reply in another post but, the problem with ringtones on the storage card is what happens when the battery get's low? the phone stops reading it in order to save power. Agree with the action button answering a call, can be a real pain good job the mpx200's flip stops accidental connections :P
Guest comdw Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 With the amount of freeware utilities out there I'm surprised that this and some of the other things that get mentioned regulary (timed profile would be great too) haven't been developed by someone. I guess they just must be difficult to do - anyone care to take up the challenge?
