First... Thanks to everyone for the information provided here.

I have a MPx200 which I upgraded last night, and a i600 which I upgraded yesterday using Verizon and Samsung's software and instructions.

The MPx200 upgrade went as smoothly as the "Corporate Sponsored Software" and actually was quicker. the only two issues were:

1. I had to reboot 4 times before my phone would work. But, who cares :-)

2. I cannot establish and maintain a GRPS connection. Also my signal strength fluctuates randomly from 1 bar to 4.

There is reference to a "separate GSM-FIX" in the readme.txt file, but I cannot find the fix. I am missing something obvious?

Thanks again to all who helped get us this far.

Thank you Exodia. I must be getting lazy :-)

Now the phone appears to work much better when using GPRS. I have not lost a connection, since I installed it. I was losing and/or having trouble connecting almost everytime before... another day or two should tell the whole story.

Hi i am curious. Which order do you flash the GSM_Fix and the Language yp after flashing the German rom. Because i can't get my gprs wo work using the fido settings i was given.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Go to msmobiles.com, theres a new rom with english already included.

The gsm fix can be found at the link i provided.

Flash with the wm2003 image fisrt, then hard reset then flash the gsm fix and hard reset again.

This may sound like a well stoopeed question, but........ would applying the 2003 GSM fix to a 2002 phone make it crash, or work better.

I know what the answer should be, but you never know.....

TANKERx, I wouldnt try it :P what you're thinking is probably what would happen :D

its like installing a Windows XP patch onto a Windows NT operating system...sure you might be able to force it in there but it sure isnt going to work at all....

you would most probably overwrite the flash in wrong places if you applied it to WM2002 rendering your phone unbootable...

incidentally has anyone tried going to the MyWindowsMobile.com site posted at msmobiles.com?

if you use the drop down menus and select MPX200 from ATT it comes up with options for both Smartphone 2002 and Smartphone 2003!!

Do they know something we dont? I wonder if it means there indeed is an ATT WM2003 firmware coming down the pipeline? ...but then again it could be a typo...

ERR i meant to post it in the WM2003 thread! sorry...
