Guest pedah3 Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Does anyone have MMS working with tmobile USA with E200/Qtek 8080? I have GPRS working fine, SMS, and everything else working great, but can not get MMS to send. My message just sits in the Outbox. I had MMS working on my previous original SPV phone (on tmobile), but the settings on Smartphone 2003 are just different enough where I just can get this to work. Anyone have any help for me? I have looked in the repository and tried the settings indicated, but still no-go on the MMS. Thanks!
Guest trever Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 I currently have the Orange ROM installed so I'm going off what I still remember when I had the i-mate/Qtek ROM installed with the Arcsoft MMS Client. ;) First, goto Settings - Data Connections - Edit Connections - GPRS Connections - Add. In the Description field put 'MMS', in the Connects to field choose 'WAP Network' and in Access point put ' wap.voicestream.com', click Done twice. Goto Proxy Connections - Add. In the Description field put 'WAP Proxy', in Connects from choose 'The Internet', in Connects to choose 'WAP Network', in Proxy (name:port) put '216.155.165.50:9201' and for Type choose 'WAP'. Leave User name and Password blank, click Done until you reach the home screen. Then go into the Arcsoft MMS Client and choose Preferences. There should be an option called Connect via, choose 'WAP Network'. Also, goto MMS Settings - Add, for Name put 'MMS', for MMSC Address/URL put 'http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms', for Gateway put '216.155.165.50'. That SHOULD be it, anyone please give input if I left anything out. Hope it works.
Guest pedah3 Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 message just hangs in outbox. looks like trying to send, the "G" comes up as if it is trying to connect to the GPRS, but nothing happens until eventual "red X" by message. Tried tier3 support at tmobile and they were not able to get me going either.
Guest pedah3 Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 OK, here is what finally worked: Internet Connection: T-Zones GPRS Work: Auto WAP Connection: T-Zones MMS Secure WAP: Auto GPRS Connections: T-Zones GPRS Connects to: The Internet Access point: internet2.voicestream.com User:(blank) Password:(blank) Primary DNS:0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS:0.0.0.0 IP:(Blank) T-Zones MMS: Connects to: WAP Network Accesspoint: wap.voicestream.com rest same as above Proxy Connections: T-Zones Proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: WAP Network Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080 (port 9201 also seems to work) type: WAP rest all blank Finally under MMS->Settings T-Zones MMS Name: T-Zones MMS (I think this name needs to be same as WAP above) MMSC URL:http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms WAP Gateway: 216.155.165.50 MMS->Preferences - make sure WAP Network is connection. With this setup I get both MMS and Internet to work pretty well. There are just enough differences between smartphone 2002 and 2003 that this wasnt as easy as I was hoping when migrating from my original SPV. Hope this helps anyone in need.
Guest sixonenine619 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 I follow up until the very last part. Finally under MMS->Settings T-Zones MMS Name: T-Zones MMS (I think this name needs to be same as WAP above) MMSC URL:http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms WAP Gateway: 216.155.165.50 MMS->Preferences - make sure WAP Network is connection On my phone its: MMS > Account Setup > MMS Setup Server: Download Messages: Outgoing Message Size: Allowed message types: How do I fill them in? Im guessing I need to Make a " Server " for T-Zones MMS. So I : Menu > Edit Connections > menu > add How do i fill these out now? Description: MMSC: Data Connection: Gateway: IP address: Port: Thanks for any help!
