Guest Will Hay Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Hello from Yorkshire, UK! I'm in my first 48 hrs with my SPV E200 (I've read the sticky, a big help, that one answered my 'why aren't my saved ringtones accessibly in settings', I'd been saving them in the wrong folder!) and having a little problem when synching. Each time I sit the phone in the cradle and try access the SD Card I can't sync unless I connect to the internet. This is a real pain, as I can't quite figure why the program would want to be connected to the web each time I sync to Outlook. To be honest I don't really need to sync right now (I plan to update Outlook in the next few days and then covert everything to my phone), but I still need to access the SD card and it's a nuisance, and will be more so when I do need to sync (but can't unless I'm connected to the web) :? Can anyone point me to a fix? Many thanks, Will Hay :P
Guest Will Hay Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Update: Having spoken to Orange it appears activsync is trying to access my computer via broadband (my own IP) for some reason, but apart from that Orange couldn't give me a fix, they said it was a computer issue, not the phone issue. Can anyone assist? Will
Guest martin Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 There is one thing you can check. Disconnect USB cable from phone. On the phone goto Settings and load Activesynch program. Select Menu-Options-PC settings. Make sure that the 'Include PC sync' is NOT ticked.
Guest Will Hay Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 I'll check it out, thanks. Orange told me to re-install my broadband connection as my phone is trying to access my PC via broadband (ie. acting as a server via on online connection rather than connecting directly). I've yet to try this but I'll do both and report back. Many thanks, Will
