Where are my ringtones???

Hi!

I've now been browsing this forum to try to solve my issue with ringtones.

I have a new Qtek 8080.

I take a standard wav-file and copy it to 'StorageApplication DataSounds'

I then go to 'Settings -> Sounds -> Ring tone' but I can't find it. So, now I've been placing this wav-file in different folders like 'Windows', 'StorageMy DocumentsMy Sounds' but I still can't fin it.

Any advice???

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to reboot the handset or what???

Thanks in advance,

Fred

You've pasted it into the right folder but my guess is that it's the wrong format.

Have a quick read of the top of this thread :

The wavs need to be saved in something like this format :

PCM 22.050 kHz, 8 Bit, Mono

Windows standard Sound Recorder (in Accessories, Entertainment) will save them in whichever format you need to get the best quality. The thread gives you the various options

See my post above yours.

Using ActiveSync, copy & paste them onto the storage card :P

Hi!

Thanks for all tips.

I turned out that the tones was in the wrong format. I never realised that they had to be in a specific format. And alos, it douesn't say anything about that in the user guide.

Haven't tried to store them on the SD-card yet, but I'll let you know as soon as it's tested.
