Guest FredrikRN Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Hi! I've now been browsing this forum to try to solve my issue with ringtones. I have a new Qtek 8080. I take a standard wav-file and copy it to 'StorageApplication DataSounds' I then go to 'Settings -> Sounds -> Ring tone' but I can't find it. So, now I've been placing this wav-file in different folders like 'Windows', 'StorageMy DocumentsMy Sounds' but I still can't fin it. Any advice??? What am I doing wrong? Do I need to reboot the handset or what??? Thanks in advance, Fred
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 You've pasted it into the right folder but my guess is that it's the wrong format. Have a quick read of the top of this thread : http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=90760 The wavs need to be saved in something like this format : PCM 22.050 kHz, 8 Bit, Mono Windows standard Sound Recorder (in Accessories, Entertainment) will save them in whichever format you need to get the best quality. The thread gives you the various options
Guest revo Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 hi i've transfered a wav file in to storage card-in created Sounds folder, but still no ringtones anywhere but i found the file in windows media player?? :? can anyone help me please
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 If your phone is running 2002 OS you need an app to use ringtones from the card. The Jeyo Personaliser is one (from handango etc) and Soyale's Set Tones is another : http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=5835...3be19e3c9f6ce54 If you've got a 2003 device, I think you need to put them in Storage Card (only) or Storage Card My Documents
Guest revo Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 i got an spv e200 i want to store the ringtones on my sd card but dont know how. sorry for my lack of knowlege on spv phones
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 See my post above yours. Using ActiveSync, copy & paste them onto the storage card :P
Guest FredrikRN Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 Hi! Thanks for all tips. I turned out that the tones was in the wrong format. I never realised that they had to be in a specific format. And alos, it douesn't say anything about that in the user guide. Haven't tried to store them on the SD-card yet, but I'll let you know as soon as it's tested. /Fred
