Guest midnight Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 MySmartphone.no have just published lots of pictures of the silver Qtek 8010, which, i must say, looks much nicer than the black offering from Orange. As far as i'm aware, Orange have absolutely no intention releasing a silver C500, which I personally think is a real shame. For many more pictures see the MySmartphone.no website.
Guest Vector Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Wow, the Silver casing really does make the phone look nicer than the black :P/
Guest Pondrew Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Shame but I'll be happy whatever colour if it lives upto it's promise.
Guest Crispy Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Ok, let me be the first one to say that I'd prefer the black one
Guest kevlar Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I have to agree, this phone looks 500% better in silver, I actually think it looks nice whilest I thought it looked horrible in the other colour. Kevlar
Guest InMovil Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Lovely in silver but... did enyone notice that it has no keyboard backlight? ... i think its a big lack, but i still like it and if you consider that the MPx220 (24mm) is of the thikness of the SPV200 (24,4mm) ...... well, what else can be said? :P.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Isn't it just that the backlight isn't on in these pics?
Guest glofi Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 The finished version is supposed to have back lighting on the keyboard. But the sample version still has a way to go, so I guess it will be implemented later on :P
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I'm with Crispy, black all the way!
Guest kyrkesmith Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 If it was a stylish black, I might agree. But the pics of it don't look that nice in the black. An MPx200 black (without the fingerprint option) would be best, imo.
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Lovely in silver but... did enyone notice that it has no keyboard backlight? It must have - The keypad light goes off before the screen. I wouldn't worry about it. Silver for me though....er, I think
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I like both colours :? Black's a nice change after 3 silver SPV variants, but the silver does look classy. By the way, with regard to the backlight, the keys are illuminated, but the two soft keys are not - according to the W@mob review:- The two soft keys under the screen are not illuminated, which means you will instinctively press the keys underneath in the dark.... However, I think that's actually been the same on all SPV's and it's never been a problem to me :?:
Guest InMovil Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Thanks everyone. Ive been taking a look at the internal pics of the fcc report and the keyboard kays are made out of a transparent plastic so it must had a backlight. I guess backlight in softkeys are not very important because they are places very near the screen and right below the functions they are suppossed to activate, so it would be difficult to get lost :P.
Guest FredrikRN Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 did enyone notice that it has no keyboard backlight? Maybe that's why they can extend the battery life :P
Guest zedeff Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 All said and done any idea of when we can expect these to be available. I have an offer for a Qtek2020 PPCPE and am wondering whther to take that or wait for the C500??
Guest Microsoft Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Well... Backlight dosent make senses anyways...
Guest zeta101 Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 id have to see the black one in real life but i think i prefer the black one, i mean silver is really common, pretty much every phone that comes out is silver.
Guest peekie Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 luckily here in holland we get them both the black on a standard orange shop and the silver can be now reserved in most mobile shops here against a contract on any network including orange nl or of you can without a contract
Guest artax Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I saw the black c500 at this years Teched and it looks smart. I did also like the look of the Mpx220 in its 2 different colours. My friend wants an Mpx (cool hinge). Dave
Guest Microsoft Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 Do anyone know if this phone will release in sweden? Cuse now do telia own orange danmark.. And well we would get this on in as a spv... and not a qtek right?
Guest haso0on Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 wooow the silver one does make the phone look MUCH nicer, looks more proffitional
Guest fozzie Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Black for me - understated class :P Silver is so boring now, it looks like every other phone. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest haso0on Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 when is the Qtek 8010 going to be released?
