Wav file installation problems with SPV E200

Hi all, I have a problem with installing .wav file ringtones on my E200.

I Put them on my phone in the following location:

StorageApplication DataSounds. but when reboot the phone and then select the tone in the list all it does is beep and not play the tune. I have tried this with many different .wav files with no success. They all used to work ok on my older SPV. Do i have to unlock the E200 to make them work? I didnt unlock the old one and they worked ok on there...help pls these standard SPV ringtones are driving me to despair.

Sounds familiar. Unless I'm wrong it just of matter of conversion. Not all wav formats are the same. You need to convert the tones to Windows PCM wav format. I think that should do the trick.

Windows Sound Recorder (in Accessories, Entertainment) will do the conversion (Save As).
