Guest lanrover Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Ok. I have an SPVX1 (a.k.a canary) a hand me down and it had WM2003 some beta version. I have been trying to go back to the Orange ROM for this but have been very unsuccessful. I have tried the Qtek and Imate and yet not sucessful. If you know how to do this can you post it. BTW I only have the Boxwave sync cable with me and a laptop with Active sync 3.7.1 installed. Is this possible with these 2 to get the downgrade to the WM2002 ROM ? I am able to get to the Canary bootloader and after that I start the TRRU.exe or the CA....exe but both fail after about 20 seconds. Am I missing something ? My gut tells me that the bootloader I have is not compatible with the Orange or IMate or Qtek for that matter. I have some test build of the bootloader. This is a stripped version so it is very light. One feature I noticed on this build is that the apps seem close themselves when I move away from them to another. I verified this by using the SP TaskManager and did not find any app. The battery life is ok as I am using a 512 MB SD card. THis phone is much better than the E200 I had before. Thanks,
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 You are correct about the bootloader as it is a different version, it is not stipped but more incomplete as it was only ever a beta version that was leaked. You cannot go back to 2002 on the SPV unless you have an image of the entire 2002 rom you cannot just use one of the OrangeQtek updates.
Guest lanrover Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 So am I just stuck with this version forever or is there a way to upgrade to say Window Mobile 2003 or SE ? Thanks
